“The Left Is Violent”? Let’s Talk About It.

“The Left Is Violent”? Let’s Talk About It.

I remember hearing people say that the left was angry, radical, or violent.

For years, I never fully understood what that conversation was really about.

Now I do.

Many people on the left are reacting to a political movement that is actively trying to control deeply personal parts of their lives. Abortion access. Same-sex marriage. LGBTQ rights and protections. Voting access. Contraception. What books people can read. What teachers can discuss. How families are allowed to raise their children.

These are not abstract political disagreements.

These policies directly affect people’s bodies, relationships, families, rights, and futures.

So when people protest, rebel, or become angry, ask what they are reacting to.

They are reacting to politicians trying to restrict their freedom and impose rules on them, often based on religious beliefs they do not share.

That does not mean every act of violence is justified. It means anger does not appear out of nowhere.

You cannot repeatedly threaten people’s rights, control their private lives, and then act confused when they become furious.

The real question is not simply, “Why is the left angry?”

The question is: What is being done to them that made them angry in the first place?
