What If Peace Is Not Possible? (Left vs. Right)
I’ve been wondering to myself: what if peace between the left and the right is no longer possible?
What if we are not simply dealing with political disagreements, but two sides that want completely different societies?
One side wants secular government, equal rights, free elections, and separation of church and state.
The other side wants to weaken those principles in order to impose its own religious and political vision.
If neither side is willing to compromise on the kind of country America should be, where does that leave us?
Sometimes I feel like we are only delaying the inevitable.
Maybe the final outcome is civil conflict.
Maybe not tomorrow, but eventually.
Civil war would destroy lives and the country itself. But peace should not mean allowing one side to dismantle democracy or sabotage the system from within.
Are there still ways to prevent it?
